Brunch for Baby Greene

Today I was so excited to be a part of Robyn's baby brunch shower! I was able to help host and we had a blast. Baby Korbyn will be here in less than a month, so exciting!
At our fabulous brunch we had fruit, ham and cheese rolls, breakfast casseroles, monkey bread, and cheese grits. Also - my favorite - was coffee punch! I am going to add the recipe here because it was so delicious, it was more like a dessert. Super easy, try it sometime!

1/3 cup instant coffee
2/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup HOT water
1/2 gallon milk
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
1/2 gallon chocolate ice cream

Mix coffee, sugar, and hot water.
Add milk.
Add ice creams. (soften)
Serve and enjoy!

This is WAR!

Something outdoors is enjoying our garden before we get to! The nerve!

After working so hard and nurturing our sweet, little garden - something is taking it right from under our noses!

I'm about to set up post with my beebee gun and see what I can find!

Stay tuned....

14 Weeks: Bumpdate

A friend of mine had used this "survey" on her blog and I thought it was a great way to keep family and friends updated, so I'm borrowing the idea from her (Thanks Lea!) Excuse the room I am in, we are in the middle of clearing it out to make it the guest bedroom. No makeup and hair was a mess this day, so no face in the photo :)

How Far Along: 14 Weeks

Size of the baby: The size of a lemon (approximately 3.5 inches)

Total Weight Gain: Really? About 5 lbs (this part of the survey may accidentally be deleted one day.....)

Maternity Clothes: My sister gave me two pairs of her maternity jeans, and I admit I have worn them a few times because they are so darn comfortable! But, still in normal clothes with the help of the rubberband trick - but have bought a few tops with a little more room! My favorite find so far are the Target maternity tanks, great for summer (pictured above).

Gender: Do not know... not finding out until the day I deliver! (...will we cave before then??)

Movement: Not yet, can't wait!

Sleep: No more good, restful sleeping! I get up at least 2 times to use the restroom. I also have to get up and take a zofran around 5:00am to prevent morning sickness! Hoping that will leave me REAL soon :)

What I miss: Picking my nephew up... the doc banned me from lifting heavy things after a few problems earlier in the pregnancy.

Symptoms: New this week: strange skin rashes - not sure if they are pregnancy related or not, but will have my OB check them out this week. Also, I'm finding I have a tougher time breathing and catching my breath. In the past few days, my nose has become stuffy all of the time. I hear pregnancy rhinitis is common and will only get worse.... where is my neti pot?

Cravings: I really want a deep-fried Philly Roll from our sushi place, but can not have the raw salmon.

Weekly Wisdom: I cannot workout at the pace I used to... take it easy and drink plenty of water!

Best Moment of the Week: Celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary at Bonefish Grill! Love you G.

Looking forward to: Our next OB appointment this Thursday!

Happy Anniversary

Happy 3rd Anniversary to my sweet, loving husband - Can not believe it has been 3 years! We celebrated tonight by going to Bonefish Grill, our favorite! Our official anniversary is on Monday, but celebrated tonight. Of course we went early because these days I hit the hay fairly early. Who am I kidding? REALLY early.... Here are some pics we took!

Baby Love

Who will most of my posts be about for the next 6 months.... and beyond, for that matter?
This little one.

We had a bit of a scare yesterday and had to go to the hospital to get things checked out. The ultrasound showed that all is ok with me and baby. The sweet ultrasound tech snuck us a few photos to bring home. Our sweet baby was doing just fine in there, looking as relaxed as could be! The baby was kicking and grooving all over the place, I can't imagine what it will feel like when I actually start to feel the movement!

I feel that I am already showing, although people are being really nice and saying I don't look pregnant at all. I guess when you know your body so well and you feel it change each day, you can't help but notice the physical changes. Here is a picture of my slight baby pooch:

12 weeks, baby is size of a lime

Sticks and 'Staches...

So, it won't take long for you to see the pictures below to decide what it is exactly I am posting about! YES... Greg and I are pregnant - that sounds weird when you say "we" are pregnant, but if I just say "I"... well I feel like it's just me in this journey and it definitely is not, it has been a team effort! ANYWAYS... we found out that I was pregnant on March 26, 2011 and our lives have really never been the same since! We wanted to wait until we were near the end of the first trimester to announce it to the world for several reasons, but mainly to be sure all is ok!

The Stick
Seeing this on the stick was WEIRD!!!
Life as we know it CHANGED immediately...

After a wonderful and encouraging doctor's appointment yesterday, we decided to spread the news! Here is a picture of our sweet butter bean - as of today I am about 11 weeks pregnant, moving into my 12th week! If you look closely and squint you can see one hand is over the face and one is up against the left side of the head. The baby was moving around, it was the most amazing sight.... and her heart, as always, is the most amazing sound. To think another heart is inside me beating.... holy cow batman!

Now for the story on The 'Stache....

Greg is not a "just 'stache" kind of guy, he prefers (and I prefer) the goatee.....
BUT, Greg and his buddies, at a MSU football game a few years back, decided it would be interesting to make a pregnancy pact (what guys do this? OUR guys...). Whichever wife happened to get pregnant first... the husband of that baby mama must grow a mustache and sport it for the duration of the pregnancy. So there ya have it, Greg's poor naked chin is just out there ... so vulnerable. I may petition for the goatee to come back and this pact to only last a few weeks.... please guys?! Please!!

We are expecting the little one around December 4th. We are choosing NOT to find out the sex of the baby, do you think I can hold out?

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Introducing our raised-bed garden for this year! We thought we'd give this a try - with some fencing we have been able to keep the Birdie away. Greg built this and planted everything, I can take no credit. Didn't he do a wonderful job? We have tomato plants (cherry and large), squash, bell peppers, banana peppers, cayenne peppers and cantaloupe. The cayenne pepper plant was not in the plan but somehow it ended up making it home with us, so we'll see what we can do with that!
